Default Advice on cleaning oil out of trunk?

Argh! Had to recycle some oil, but also had to go to work first... Somewhere along the way a bunch leaked out because the sprout doesn't fully tighten, I mean a lot! Its quite sad actually.

Any advice on getting it out of the grey carpet stuff?

It would be easier to just replace the carpet.

Er... Im assuming you at least put it in the trunk right?
well the subject is "cleaning oil out of trunk"
I would sy start with a shop vac but an electric vac might heat the oil and well you know
if you've already gotten the most out then find a good cleaner

My fault lol! I could have sworn he said he spilled it in the trunk, but then I scrolled back up and read the post it didnt say trunk anywhere, so I thought Id ask to make sure. I totally overlooked the title though [8D]. But seriously, oil is tough to get out of anything, and since your carpet isnt black, it will stain horribly. I suggest just buying another carpet trunk liner, they cant be that expensive. If you really want to try and clean it, try a steam cleaner and maybe pull the carpet and run a rug doctor over it. But if you dont have those it would probably cost as much to rent them as it would to buy a new piece of carpet. Good luck.

You will prob have to replace it, but try removing it and spraying the **** out it with degreaser and use a stong hose or pressure washer.

#1 reason I don't do my oil changes

#1 Having to dispose of the oil myself

Sorry to hear about the problem. Be easier and cheaper (time is money) to just replace the carpet.

Yup thanks guys. I'm going to remove the carpet and just dump cleaners off it out of curiousity, who knows it might work. But yes, I'll definately just buy a new carpet.

On that note... I looked through the Ford parts list and can't find anything referencing trunk carpet.... And the trunk floor pan is the metal thing underneath. Anyone have experience with this part?

My Ford dealership had extras. If yours doesnt, they can probably order it for you.
