Default Steering Wheel shaking!

Ok so my steering wheel shakes at around 60-65mph and my seats shake at like 80-85mph. It started doing when I bought the front wheels, I had Discount Tire mount and balance them. After I left it was doing this, I took the car back because that's what it feels like when they're not balanced, they balanced all 4 tires again and my car keeps doing it.... Any idea what it could be?

Thanks

Hey Daniel,

You bought wheels from them, or tires?? If wheels, did you check to make sure the retaining clip for the rotor was removed prior to mounting the new wheels??

Oh, and inquiring minds want to know. What happened with the Raptor problem you were having????

Mike

I had a similar issue.... I had a "Road Force" balance and it solved the issue...

Hi Mike;

I purchased both wheels and tires from cruizin concepts, I didn't mount them they did.... So I guess it wasn't done right [:@]I'm taking my car for the 20,000 mile check up so I might just have the dealership fix it. If they try and charge me for it how would I fix it myself?

Now with the Raptor, I think I did an update on it... either way what had happened was that I shorted out the coil when my buddy came here and checked it out he couldn't figure out what the problem was so by accident he swapped the coil 7 with coil 8 and when I took it to the dealership they diagnosed the car and found that there was a problem with coil 7.... They replaced and fixed it for no charge .

Now i'm afraid to try and install the raptor, I don't want to short out another coil [&:]

So i'm trying to figure out what to do with that.

Daniel,
So both the wheels and tires are brand new? The problem is, is that OEM wheels have enough room to accept the retainer clip. Many after market wheels do not. Again, this is IF this is your problem. As far as curing it, you need to pull the wheels off, and see if that retaining clip in the picture is there. If it is, it is very easy to remove. Either try threading it off, or just cut it with some side cutters. It is used at the factory to hold the rotor on while it proceeds down the assembly line. It is not a necessary part.
I will shoot you a PM regarding the Raptor.
