I cannot lie this thread is hilarious (sorry)

let me say this. I work for Lexus as a service advisor. I can agree with you that 200 miles is rediculous, especially there over night only. Is it entirely possible to mark the wrong odo reading, of course it is.

Listen, there not going to edit the dang video, they prolly really don't care unfortanetly. If the car is not damaged and everything is s it should be, don't be an *** clown to them, just express your discourse with them over this service visit and that you feel that they should step up to the plate and compensate you (i.e. free maintenance or something like that.)

I have only ONCE put that many miles on a car, but it was for an intermittent rattle and guest had authorized my dignostic specialist to drive it home.

Many a transmission installed and maybe 30 - 40 miles...

hTh

Sounds like just a mistake made when recording the odometer reading at check-in. Seems implausible to me that a dealer would take your car for a 227 mile drive for any reason. Think about it. It wouldn't make sense from any perspective. Dealers have tons of cars. They really don't need to take your car for a long joyride and chance all the myriad of possible consequences.Just consider it a learning experience. Always check your mileage whenever you give anyone temporary possession of your vehicle.

I'm pretty sure you live somewhere near me... which stealership was it? Downs?

I will be delighted to see that video (next week), because I've been extremely happy with Downs so far, and want nothing more than to see PROOF that this was just a typo on the invoice, and was not some punkass kid-tech joyriding with his nasty girlfriend in MY baby.
Stay tuned for further developments........!
Check for snail trails on the passengers seat with a black light.
YUCK. Dont even use a blacklightin a hotel room. You will
puke a little in your mouth.

Id make sure the video you watch doesn't seem edited.... Some punk kid had a joy ride imo.
If its a professional DVR recorder, its impossable to edit the time
stamp thats on the video without some kind of CSI equipment.

Yes, after I see the security video with my own eyes (next week), then that is the only possible conclusion (mistaken odometer reading).

In any event, I have learned my lesson, and will NEVER again leave my car without checking it on the spot before handing over the keys.
I hope you guys will also learn from my experience, and save yourselves LOADS of unnecessary stress by doing so...!
