Default mid muff question

this is for those with the pypes mid-muffler system installed. Do you feel the heat in the car from moving the mufflers under you?

I don't have the Pypes version, but custom mufflers welded in the mid section. I didn't notice any heat from them. But then of course your not sitting directly over them either.

What will cause interior heat is a catted mid pipe. I have a MRT catted H, before the mid mufflers, and it added quite a bit of heat inside the car. I have to imagine the same applies to a catted X too.

The mid mufflers, if small enough outside diameter, mine are only 3.5 outside dia, and I think the Pypes mufflers are the same, they wont cause any heat issues.

cool thanks for the quick responses... if you don't mind me askin, how much was the custom setup? the pypes one is only 300 bucks! i need to hear one in person first, im not impressed 100% with the videos ive seen. But if it is comparable to weld up a custom setup i may just do that...

The Pypes system is a great deal, especially for 304 stainless. The cost for mine, I paid $225 for the mufflers and installed. The I traded my MBRP's for a set of SLP LM's. Probably about another $200 spend on that. But the sound is unique at least for me. But $300 for the Pypes, that deal won't be there for long, or so they say.

I've had the the Pypes axlebacks, and they do sound good, but seems like when you here someone else's car, there is always something better, so I got rid of them. The clips of the mid system sound very similar, IMHO, but they are clips don't represent the true sound 100%.

Here are a couple of clips of mine to give you a reference

With the mufflers deleted and the mid section parts and labor were $150.
This is mine with on off road x-pipe and cold started.
