I have the same set up,and run 12.80 with the 3:31 gears.I am changing to 3:73 next week and hope to improve.I have been racing for 35 years and am comfortable with our track.I run my street tires 295-30-20,no water box, slight spin to clean the tires.Slip clutch till hook up and shift at 6200.Keep going to the track and having fun.Win or lose it's better than being in the stands.
I'm going to call bs, there is no way you are running 12.80 with street tires and just a CAI.

Whats your trap speed at along with some 60ft times? Even if you were powershifting 12.80 on street tires, I don't see that happening there champ.

Post some videos and a timeslip and some detailed pictures of your car. Even then I still won't believe you.

went to the track again. The best time I could get was 14.1. Here are the factors. Reaction time .43
60 foot 2.4
miles per hour 102.7
Only track prep was lowering tire pressureto 14 psion the stock tires.
I had a half a tank of gas and the engine was very warm between the c and h.
Only mods to the car is a cold air intack and a 93 octane tune from breenspeed.
I was launchingbetweens 2 and 2. 5 rpms.
If I let the engine cool all the way down and only had a little of a quarter of a tank how much time would it drop? Any other suggestions welcome.

practice dude you already droped half a second almost just get a feel for it and dont spin out, avoid the wet box like they said and drop it fast but dont spin on the take off.

oh and shift right before redline, with your tune and everything I would say right over 6000 RPMs will be your perfect shift point.

I feel like i'm taking crazy pills!! You could pull a better 60ft time by leaving at idle. Stop spinning your tires and don't lower the pressure to 14psi, that's probably not very safe.

leave your tires at recomended pressure, slip the clutch from 1800 rpm, and try not to spin the tires.
tires spinning=tires not pushing.

there are stock s197's (GT'S) at the track here running 13.5-13.9 all day long. STOCK!!!
you should hit at least a 13.3 with your mods.

did they (track crew) prep the track?
did you turn off TCS?
If your spinning off the line lower you launch RPM
don't mess with tire pressure YET (you should be able to break into the 13's without lowering tire pressure)
Have some one video the launch maybe by watching it we can help more

Mines a stockauto and I've done 13.9 so you should be able to getlow 13's

what is the altitude at the track
are you running with the sun out or at night (when the sun is out the track is warmer and thus stickier)

14 psi is asking for permanent sidewall damage. radial tires dont work like bias-ply. they dont wrinkle on the sidewalls. that little ammount of pressure is probably slowing you down. if you absolutly dont want to take anyones advise and lower the pressures anyway, just put them at like 25+ psi
