antenna installation gone wrong
You aren't the only one. I got the 14" and tested the different attachments to see which one screwed into the car... Thought I found the right one, started screwing... Then went to tighten it and it spun right off and snapped inside. Went and got the screw extractor, got it out from the antenae but getting it out from the car was much more difficult. I ended up screwing the inside up and now nothing will fit there. I went to get a new one, but Ford says it's all one piece. Goes down the fender, along the block, and in through the firewall. The only disconnect is beneath the passenger dash. I could always try disconnecting it at the top and crimping the new one, but now I just think I want to get it removed and filled... Who knows.
My 14" from American Muscle came with a few adapters and I just picked the one that matched the stock threads. No problems.

Hey guys, don't be buying all kinds of tools to extract the remain of the antenna mast.
A new ant base retails for around $30.

the top and then the stocker can be removed and filled in.
To replace the antenna base, all you have to do is...
1) Remove passenger wheel and remove the back half of the wheel well plastic trim.
2) Remove antenna base cap, and remove the 3 screws that hold the base in place.
3) Detach antenna wire underneath glove box
4) Pull wire from out from wheel well, through the firewall
The new wire/base assembly has a grommet attached. So, all you have to do is feed the wire through the hole in the fender, and through the firewall. The entire process took me about a half hour. I would also purchase the antenna base cap, since you may damage it during removal. It's only a couple bucks.
