antenna installation gone wrong
I recently received my 8" shorty antenna.
I started by taking off the stock antenna. Then I started screwing in a (stud?).
As I was screwing in the stud, it broke off. So, the bottom half is stuck inside.
I was wondering what I should do at this point.
Help please!!

WOW, never heard this before. Was it tough and tight going in?
Did you put sideways load on it and broke it or did it lock up
and twist off? Was the "stud" metal or aluminum. If it went in
tight and twisted off, drill it out and use a screw extractor? If
it went in loose and broke because of side load, try and coax
it out with a sharp insturment or a small screwdriver. Otherwise
you now havethe true "antenna delete" option with the base
still there.

Go to Sears and buy a screw extractor. Here is a link describing them.

Easy out is rarely "easy" out. Use the largest extractor you can... if you break one of these off inside then you have real problems... hardened steel does not drill out. ...be careful with the extractor.

Is this common? I ask because I just ordered the black Billet 14" antenna and I just assumed it would be a 30 second, simple install.
