Default Idle problems solved!

Just a heads up to all if you have experienced low idle or jerky type take-offs when cold.It was the throttle body! My 2005 GT finally threw a code after developing a low idle and it would act real jerky when it was cold taking off in 1st gear.Took it to the dealer and they put a new one on.Seems they have been replacing these alot here lately.Ford must have made some upgrades to them because the new part number is an 07' number. The mechanic told me the TPS usually goes bad.It runs a whole lot better now.Very smooth take off's and it idles around 900 rpm.It runs better than when it was new.Legend GT

I had that problem - they told me the throttle body had cracked. They ordered a new one, put it on, cracked it again.

They ordered yet another one, this one with an '07 part number, and it has been fine since.

Does a new TPS or TB need any changes to the computer? Or is it just a straight swap?

There is a tsb on these dealing with the IAC. Ford says to replace these first, but like most techs, I just replaced the whole throttle body assembly. Just throwing out a cheaper option for those out of warranty.
