Default Problems finding gears

Ok so im sure that you were thinking of somethin else by the title, but i was tryin to get all the attention i could so as to get everyones opinion. Ive noticed this problem before, but then it stopped for a long time, dont kno if it has anything to do with it getting cooler out, especially in the mornings, but here we go. After my car has sat all night, ill come outside in the morning, get in it, and start it up. When i try to put in in drive (i have an AUTOMATIC by the way, jus wanna make sure everyone sees that) its like i cant find drive, everyone knows the feeling of their gears, most can put it in drive without even lookin, but its like theres no groove for the gear to go in. And when i look at it, when it feels like it finally grabs drive, the red line cant be seen to show that its lined up. This seems to mostly happen in the morning, when i havent been driving it for awhile, and like i said, it was doing it before, then seemed fine, and now its starting again. The first time it was doing it, i was having the same problem putting it into reverse also. I have about 7k left on my warranty, so ill make sure to take it in, i just like to have an idea of what to say to them. Thanks ahead of time everyone.

It sound like the shift cable is out of alighnment. An easy fix and it happens on a lot of different cars.

+1 I dont have a automatic now but I did have that problem on a car I had before. Took it in under warranty if I remember correctly. Dont think it was big deal to get fixed.
