2007 GT Purchase

RE: 2007 GT Purchase
You can search around looking for prices until you're blue in the face. You have to understand that the supply of mustangs is finally catching up on the demand, and therefore prices are dropping. You got some pretty good quotes, but don't forget taxes, tags and licensing. That'll add a few grand. What's most important is that you can actually afford the car. One of those dealers with a decent price might make up their difference when they hose you on trade in, or sneak something into an awful interest rate.

I picked up my 2008 GT about a month ago, and the only options I don’t have are the following: Shaker 1000, heater seats, satellite radio, and a passenger power seat. I have the HID lights, engine dress up package, 18” rims, interior upgrade package, etc. The MSRP on the car was $32,999, I purchased the car for $28,000 . I purchased the car for $483.00 below invoice price. Not sure if it matters but I live in RI…

Hi y'all,
I'll be buying a 2007 GT (5-sp manual, 3.55 axle, and leather) by the end of this week and I have some questions that, hopefully, you guys can help me with.
1. I have several quotes from local dealers (Texas) ranging from $2100 to $5400 off MSRP. If you've bought a 2007/08 GT recently, how does this compare to the price you paid? Is this a reasonable discount or should I hold on for a larger amount off?
2. Is there a width difference on the different rims or are they all the same width?
3. One of the cars has a "California emissions system." What does that entail and how does it affect performance?
4. Is the Shaker 500 a considerable improvement over the standard system or not worth the money?

2 Not sure, but I thnk the 17's and 18's are 8 or 8.5" width
3 I bought my car in New Jersey, and I noticed the "California Emissions System" too, on the sticker, in fact all the cars, '06 or '07, had that on their stickers , too. I think all of the Mustangs have it no matter where they are.
4 The Shaker 500 is standard on the Premium pkg, and an option on the Deluxe, so it depends what car you're looking at. For me, personally, I have the Shaker 500 ( part of the Premium pkg.) and no problems, and it sounds good to me. I'm not an "audiophile" anyway, so stock is good enough for me. Reliability has been good so far 9 months, but I've heard they have reliability issues though.
Good luck on the sale

RE: 2007 GT Purchase
The Shaker 500 comes with Premium so just don't upgrade. It's good until you start getting problems. Skipping, bad disc reads, etc. Personally, I can't "knock the stock" anyways. So I had to throw in an amp and two 10s. But I'm replacing it finally this month...it looks prety ugly and boring anyways
Good luck on getting a GT though! Those are great deals. I wish I had those offered to me, then I wouldn't have bought a 6er. Anyone get those kinds of deals in CALI? Tell me where I should have gone lol!

RE: 2007 GT Purchase
invoice is BS. remember the dealer has holdback, then they have floorplan.
i bought my 27.5k 07 GT in 11.28.06 and got it for 24.1k, that was below invoice with the $500 from Ford, it helped that i worked at a ford dealer in the past so the VINcent was at hand when needed.
deals sound pretty straight watch interest...
