This is why I got a refund on my aftermarket warranty.... The deductible is lame and the engine/powertrain is modded enough that the warranty wouldn't even cover it anyways.

The aftermarket warranty we offer at my work has a disapearing deductable as long as it is brought to us for the work.

Hi Everyone!

I just received a call from the service department at Ford saying the work on my car is finished. They replaced my instrument cluster to fix my speedometer problem (stopped working). They replaced the Fuel Level Sender to fix the problem of my gas guage not working. And...they replaced the Shaker 500 deck. But he said that after they installed the new Shaker, it only accepts discs in Slot 1. So I have to bring it in AGAIN to be re-replaced!

BUT...to my surprise, he said that after the warranty deductable and plusthe original inspection to determine that my rotors need to be replaced and my door handles fixed (NOT covered by warranty so I told them not to do anything), my total is $175.22! I was not aware that I had to pay for work that is covered on my warranty. They also did not mention anything 2 weeks ago about being charged for them confirming that my rotors need replacing and my door handles need to be fixed. Is there something I'm missing or am I being screwed by the stealer-ship? Please help guys, I'm really frustrated
A little more info Please. How many miles are on your car for it to need new Brakes?
I currently have 54K miles on her. I checked my rearbrakes a week prior to seeing the dealer and I have about 50% life on them. But Isaw that I alsoneed to have the rotors replaced or re-surfaced. I asked them to look into the TSB on the rear brake squeel though, not to check my pad and rotor life. Which is what they did anyways and charged me for it.

That sounds more appreciatable. But yes, my door handles don't close all the way due to the stretched spring apparantly. I knew this already thanks to you guys and I found the TSB. I told the dealer the problem before they worked on my car. But yesterday they tried charging me $55 for saying they inspected the door handles and that the problem is the stretched spring and warranty doesn't cover it. I told them I refuse tobe charged for something that I already told them was aproblem. I only asked if they could determine whether or not warranty wouldcover the fix. So they removed it from my invoice. I'm going back today to getthe stereo situation taken care of. $44 came out of my pocket for replacing that and the warranty paid $425.95, for something that doesn't work

Oh what a day![]

Which tsb did you find. The one I know of that works is just to adjust the rod for the handle so it sits flush when closed.

I have it printed at home...but that wasn't the solution I found. Had to do with replacing the spring which requires taking the whole door inside apart I guess... Thanks

You could just get rid of the door handles and go with door poppers
