Search the site for Mobil 1, Redline, Royal Purple and you'll find a pile of info.

Me? Redline believer, but my new home area has no supply unless I mail order, I think not, hassle, expense, so after some 300k plus miles of Redline use, going to Mobil 1.

I also and a firm believer in "Tufoil" www.tufoil.com which I've always had to mail order.

Yes, synthetic motor oil provides increased protection for your engine, and can help increase performance with it's additives.

I recommend mobil 1 5w-20. Good on gas mileage, and good protection, as mobil is one of the best oils you can buy.

As for oil filters, get a good one.

JSYN, fram was rated one of the worst as they lose their filtering ability after a short while, and reduce oil flow.

Among the best are motorcraft (yea, I was surprised also), and I think acdelco.

As always, howarmat came to the rescue.

Seems like I messed up the ACdelco filter, haha, it's last!

So, what I get here is that mobil 1 5w-20 and the motorcraft filter is the best for our cars.

But, how often do u guys change your oil and filter on a DD?

thanks for all the input guys....i know a decent amount about oil and stuff....i posted this thread because just about everyone i talk to has a different opinion one being "dont waste your money on synthetic" and then the next "i would never put anything but synthetic in any of my cars" so i just wanted to get some more input....so anything else would also be greatly appreciated thanks again!!!
