Window Misalignment? Broken Window Track?
Hoping somebody might have had a similar experience before I start tearing open the door tomorrow to do exploratory surgery.
Everytime I roll down the driver's side window there is a noticeable clunk about half way down. It doesn't stop the window, but it wasn't there before and it's clearly not "right". Also, there is quite a bit more wind noise, especially at speed, from that window than there used to be.The clunkseems to be coming from the rear of the door/window track and the extrawind noise is also coming from the lower rear area of the window. All of this seems to indicate to me that something is out of alignment and/or broken in the window track. Has anybody had this happen and do you recall what the fix was?
Thanks,
JZ

Check the alignment bolt on the bottom of the door.
Is it still there or possably loose? No tearin anything
apart to check that one. It adjusts the in/out gap at the
top of the glass when the door is closed and the window
is up.

Almost had the stang a year now. Notice how clean the door jams are. Crawl under
and check yours. They may need cleaning.

I'll check that first. I'm assuming that is the one that is on the outside of the door (door jamb)?

With all the kids sports this weekend I never had time to take the door panel off and look around, but the track mount mentioned is definitely not the culprit (thanks much for the photo). Any other ideas?
Nope, mine bumps prettty hard at the bottom sometimes but not
like you describe. Maybe someone who has actually had a door panel
off can chime in her and help a fella out? Or else its Stealership time for him.

When mine clunks at the bottom I do the window recalibration - push and hold down, let window get to bottom and hold switch for two seconds, then hold switch up and after window is all the way up hold for two.. and it's fine for a while. I do have to do this every few weeks, but I've got my windows going up and down all the time, so I'm not suprised.
There's a TSB (06-22-18)out for our power windows. Sounds like it might cover some of your guys problems...
