Saleen is better than the others then? I didn't know there was so much difference - Thanks.

Or, the Brenspeed Stage 1 kit.................(keeps the A/F ratio in check with the bigger injectors). A little more power then the Saleen kit, on the same boost.

ORIGINAL: sevenleaf

I don't understand how anyone can say even if your not in boost, thatyou don't hear a whine the engine makes even with the slightest of pressing. I don't know about you guys. Look at all the people who add a tune and cai and say oh my god its awesome. Well take that and add a lot more, thats how I feel with my supercharger. If you open the hood I can hear the twin screws spinning away. And after adding the saleen inlet tube i can actually hear the airbeing pulledinto my steeda cai. When I tap my gas my car goes, before it took a second before the car got enough power to actually go 'throttle lag'

I finally let my fiance drive my car after she rented a mustang when she had to drive out of town. Her words were wow the car justs wants to go fast. She said it was extremely different then the car she just rented. I guess for the people who don't know they have a supercharger have simply gotten used to it.

of course i only mean those with the saleen sc.
My boost gauge is in a plus 20 or a vacume of 20 at idle and goes up from there (now to 11 psi). You notice it, but floor it and it is a jeckle and hyde sort of thing with the tires smokind and the azz end dancing. Shift ay 3k rpm and the car is mild.

How can I describe it? hmm? ....well with my setup, saleeen series VI, 3.6 (8lb) pulley, headers catted xpipe and borla stingers....well reliable ....very....I am able to reliably smack the snot out of allot of cars on the road or hang with the best.....sound...I agree with sevenleaf, there is not a time that I don't notice my saleen from startup to WOT to just cruising down the road. I hear it. Now drivability is fine, the Saleen stays steady with regular throttle touch, but when you jump on it [sm=gears.gif]..look out....tires will squeal or spin and the fun begins......at startup there is this slight howl of screws and pulleys turning with along with the crackle of the engine through my headers....as far as when you step on it the sound is always there...a slight howl then it screams and the boost gauge plants at 8 instantly (For my car more or less on others I guess) daily use, I drive my car every chance I get...it is totally drivable and runsgreat at any throttle. I know my SC is there, but the great thing drivability wise is I can drive it calmly with out issue. longevity, will be fine with the right precautions. dont be cheap, this is a big power adder to your car, the last thing you want to do is not invest in some better incidentals that cost only a few hundred dollars, because it could cost you 1000's in the end. Now these are not must haves, yet nice haves so you have more piece of mind...some things include, bigger injectors (More boost = more fuel needed) depending on boost, you may need better fuel pump system...auto tranny longevity under boost, get rid of or control the heat...some fix alls for that is new TC , good one...not garbage....deeper tranny pan....better fluid....LCAs for traction, etc etc etc..MOST IMPORTANT>>>>>THE RIGHT TUNE!!!!!!

and to help track all of it....get the gauges....(Fuel Pressure, Boost vac, Wideband A/F, intercooler temp etc )
you will be happy with it and your car can last forever, but realize the facts..it depends on how you drive and..you are adding 100+ hp and Torque to your stock car....every engine is its own system. Any one of our engines can fail under the F/I or just leaving it stock...if there is a flaw in the engine it can fail on you...the only thing you can do is to take as many precautionary measures to help prevent failure..by the way mine has around 4000 miles on it since install. I dont race except a little playfully on the street......MY 2 cents.....good luck and have fun...

Just do it! You will never look back................ unless it's at all those cars that can no longer keep up with you!

saleen footing the tow bill to another town 60 miles away to one of their authorized dealers and sending a new blower under their warranty?? that sums it up for me.

Well now here's a question....

So that satisfaction that you got from the intake/tune for $600 and the extra 25HP....is the satisfaction you get for the extra 100-150HP and the $5000 comparable. That is, is the price / satisfaction ratio equivalent?

All you guys with SCs....

Did you use the tune that came from your dealer, or did you go to a local shop and have it dyno tuned?
