I'm not ruling the Hurst out by no means, I'm just checking other options as I'm new to the Ford thing again. The one hurst was dead on, the other was a mess, so I'd have to guess the install was the issue.

Thanks again,

Mike

ORIGINAL: Bluestar

I'll grant you that the MGW is a quality item, but to call the Hurst a glorified Stock Shifter is a stretch in my opinion. I've had the Hurst for close to two years, and I love it. They claim in their add that it offers a 40% reduction, in shift travel. I think it's closer to 50%. Dear Hurst.......
I hear you, they were the first ones out werent they? I went on the cheap and started with the Seleen shifter block for 49.00 which shortened the throw 40% as well. It was nice and short, but now it is flat out amazing.
If you look on the MGW site you will see a video of a guy shifting gears and it looks put on how easy he is throwing the shifter around, but I will vouch that the shifter is that smooth.

I love my MGW. The shift is smooth and never miss a gear now. I can't compare it to Hurst because I have never driven a Stang with one, but the MGW is a very nice shifter; well built and very quiet. If you get the MGW go with the GT shifting ****. It is larger than stock and fits nice. Good luck with the new car!
