Don't forget that your Credit Score is factor in what you pay for auto insurance, unless you live in California and maybe a coupe of other states, Hawaii maybe one.

How are you on the same policy with your in-laws? Do you all live in the same houshold. I hope so because if you aren't and the insurance company finds out they would have grounds to non-renew the policy. (Sorry the insurance agent in me is coming out)
Hey poohflingr ( lol )
My sister is divorcing. She got her own insurance through a different company. State Farm, I think.
The agent told her she could use my address since it was considered a better neighborhood.
That doesn't sound right to me. You wouldn't think the agent would suggest something like that.

I'm about 1600 a year for full coverage. 20 y/o, no tickets, no accidents.

YEA JERSEY!

That's not bad considering I used to get RAPED by Allstate. When I first bought the mustang I was paying almost 7000 a year.

Yeah as an agent I can put your cars garaging location anywhere I want. Problem is, if the claims adjuster puts two and two together in the event of an accident, they could deny a claim because of it. The job of an insurance company is to charge for the risk of that cars location, if there is higher risk in a certain area and the agent or insured lies about the location of the vehicle, the insurance company doesn't collect enough for the risk. I'm sure that insurance agent is gonna play stupid if your sister in-law gets busted by an adjuster because he would lose his license .

Make sure you keep up the good work, because 1 accident in NJ is certain death to your finances!

I called USAA, my insurance, and told them about all the appearance stuff I have, I got an email confirming that they are all covered.

GOT IT...KEEP RECEIPTS, KEEP INSURANCE COMPANY INFORMED. Other note depending on your insurance company and age and previous driving record your premium will probably go up with all the mods...more money they have to potentially spend out on you means more money you will need to spend on them. Side Note: This has been a very good thread with a lot of good advice

AND GO USAA!!!!
