I have an '08 and my wife has an '05. I didn't even know there was a difference, so it can't be that noticable.

Im disappointed in the HID I've seen. Its a reflector, not a projector, so its not the pretty rainbow of colors you see on higher end cars. its just a brighter bulb in a moving reflector.

And the bulb it uses is, as people said above, some mercury-free safe bulb, so its not as bright as HIDs we've grown used to.

Anyways.... I'm disappointed. I was hoping we could bring some cool modern high-end rainbow of colors into these muscle cars, but no....

ORIGINAL: tube

I would NEVER suggest HID bulbs in a reflector designed for a halogen bulb. That leads to all sorts of glare and light distribution issues.

Nah, not as much as you think on these cars. In fact, I gaurentee that my HIDs light the road better than yours[8D]. I will agree with you on the fog lights on these cars-- where it is a completely unshielded beam, they do produce a lot of glare. But look good around dusk--I never run them at night for respect to other drivers.

the aftermarket hid kit i have does have a slight glare, but thats a small price to pay versus the light output. if you live in the city you wont have any one flash you, but if you drive down dark roads frequently you will get flashed.

I just bought a set on ebay for $120. Im just trying to figure out if I should replace the d3s bulb/ballast and install a d2s set.
I got them for $100 a kit.
