$91K
God that is a gorgeous color. I'd probably ruin my pants if I saw it in person. I wouldn't drive it but on the very nicest of days. Hell just that fact alone is one reason I wouldn't buy the car. The priceis a bit high butseeing how its a Saleen Extreme and it's decked out, I'm not shocked by it. Those paint jobs that come on the Saleen aren't cheap or just something that can be copied at your local Maaco. I wonder what kinda 6-speed the Extreme comes with.
17K for paint...what...does it make your car fly? Maybe I have to see it in person...but it looks just okay to me[&:].
for 91K, I'd get a Shelby mod it to death...and then pocket 20 g's.

Physics totaly ROCKS with a good teacher that is
That's a factory warrantied Mustang with a custom paint job that could do 0-60 in under 4 seconds and top out north of 190mph. Could you make one for cheaper yourself? Maybe. Would you blow your motor because you didn't do the thousands of hours of testing that Saleen did with its particular engine, possibly. Is it worth paying the extra $$$ to have a warrantied, registered/documented, Saleen? That's up to each individual buyer.
Consider that if you currently owned an original, mint'67 Shelby GT500 (one of 2,048 built that year), you'd be sitting on a car worth well over $250k. If you owned a mint '67 Mustang (one of 474,000 built that year) that you personally modded and painted to be a GT500 clone, you might have a $50k car.
It's all about what the market will bear.
Btw, here's a possible break down of the price of the Saleen Extreme in the ad-- and I'm just spit ballin' here, so these numbers are only approximate (and include factory labor to install & shipping/freight):
$30k for a brand new Mustang GT
$10k for Saleen body kit (front end, hood, side skirts, rear end, duck tail, and big wing)
$3k for interior upgrades
$2k for upgraded brakes
$1k for HID lights
$1k for suspension upgrades
$2k for tire/wheel upgrades
$5k for carbon fiber front and rear air diffusers
(Saleen had to add these to the Extreme to create enough down-force to keep the car on the road at the 190+mph top speed of the car)
$15k for a blueprinted, forged, supercharged, tuned, fully warrantiedengine putting out 550+hp
(with upgrades to provide the engine's needed fuel, air,and coolingneeds)
$17k for custom Beryllium paint job (essentially a custom,multi-coat, candy orange paint job)
________
$86k
I'd take the Saleen over the M6 or any of the AMG 63 series cars, all of which cost well over $100k, and don't particularly turn heads on the street (at least not out here in L.A.)...
Just my $.02.

$91k is alot, but i think its better than at my local dealership, they have a roush, yes a rough for $83k.its a drag pak version that was featured in a magazine,if you dont know what the drag pak is,is a roush that comes with a tach,a spare set of slicks and a battery box,no side or rear ground effects, just the front roush bumper and the supercharger,it also comes with a rollbar that is not actually legal to race with, all for $83k.so that saleen looks like a bargain compared to the drag pak roush.
