Concept Hood Pics
I don't read this forum often but whenever I want to check out a possible mod I come here for great info. So now that I finally took the plungeI thought I should share some pictures of the "concept hood" available at Cervinis and some other places. I know there are other pics of this but I think you'll like these anyway.
Some things you may want to know about this hood. It does come with parts to move the windshield sprayers which come up out of the stock hood. In the new location they are just under the lip of the hood in the center of the windshield area. You still have 2 of these and they are angled to hit the driver and passenger side respectively. They are black and you can see them from inside the car but they are pretty small and don't really draw your eye or anything.
The concept hood is a functional ram-air hood IF you buy the extra $250 worth of parts for it. I didn't which is why you can see into the holes. From most angles you can't see into the engine compartment so I may not bother with the ram-air parts.
The profile of the hood is a little different from the stock hood and you can tell a difference from inside but it isn't a visual impairment as the hood isn't that tall.
The metal flake paint is also an extra difficulty when the shop paints the hood. The metal flake isn't smooth so it takes more effort clear coating & sanding to get a smooth finish. If they don't do it right you can definitely tell and you should not accept it if they don't.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to share this stuff.

3rd Image.
I have the hood and a ducktail but the ducktail is pretty standard so I didn't want to waste bandwidth on pics. The paint color is Fireball and it is a metal flake paint. When getting a metal flake paint they have several options on flake size during the application process. I don't know the size they used but this would be considered one of the larger flake sizes. The larger flake results in more of the base color of the car coming through which I felt helps it blend better. If you picked a small flake this color would be a much brighter red with very little black showing through.

Assuming that is a pic of your car, do you also have the functional ram air kit that mounts under the hood? I'm thinking of getting either the Cervinis '67 or Ram air hood installed in the spring with that kit they sell for under the hood to direct air over towards air intake. Just wondering how that's working out for you (if you have it).
Ha ha - you must have been editing your original post as I was typing mine. Did you have the work done at Cervini's or another shop? I was going to have it done at Cervinis since I'm relatively close (Philly area). Just curious as to your satisfaction with their work if you had it done there.
I did not have the work done at Cervinis (I'm in Dallas) so I can't help you there.
One other concept hood general interest item. The hood vibrates a bit when you hit a bump (at least without the ram air it does). At highway speeds on smooth roads you get no vibrations but the smallest bumps do cause the hood to bounce around a bit. It is kind of freaky at first like - crap is the hood attached properly - but after a week you won't notice it. I wouldn't change the hood now just because of the vibrations. It doesn't rattle or make any noise related to this and I have not noticed any wind noise related to the open ram-air ducts.
Good luck with Cervinis.
