Default Tips on Removing Mirror w/out Braking it?

Do you guys have a special way of removing the drivers side mirror? I'm talking about the actual mirror. I'm afraid to snap the mirror off because Im afraid it'll break. There's a sticky on this topic with really good directions, but it really doesn't go into detail on how to snap the mirror off. This rattle is annoying the hell out of me. I took it to the dealer and told them about the problem, but the dumb dumbs said the mirror was fine and they couldn't spot the rattle(thats Ford quality for you). So, if they don't want make the effort to fix it, screw them. I want to do it myself now. Any tips? Gracias

Push the bottom in, that way, you'll have room at the top to stick a flat (as wide as you can find)screw driver between the back of the glass and the electric motor. If you have a wedge plastic tool made for that, forget the screwdriver.

Pry gently till it pops out. Tape one side of the glass(bottom) to the housing, so it will not drop to the ground.

You have to pry those 2 white plastic pistons that makes the motion of the mirror first, then the2 inch ring lookalike thingy in the center.

Hope this helps. I don't have pics, sorry.
