Leave it in there it will be fine for 5k just make sure to go back to the 5w20 at the next change.

Nothing to worry about. 5W30 and 5W20 are very close.

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll try it with the 5w30. Did some other lookin' around and I think I'll be safe. But, to be double dog safe I am going to dilute it with 25% H2O and that will keep it from exploding (JK LOL)!!!!!

I must be missing something here. Does the GT use 5w-20 and the V6 uses 5w-30? The oil cap on my V6 says 5w-30. It sounds to me like he used the correct oil unless there's a difference between the GT and V6.

 

No biggie, you'll be fine. Change it out in 5K miles.

 

GT uses 5w-20 syn blend from the factory

 

good catch bterry29, yep the gt uses 5w-20
and i do believe the v6 uses 5w-30
