if not try setting it off see if it'll go off from (loud noises or closeing the trunk to hard)

It should turn off when you (depending on how set off it is)
unlock and relock the car from the remote
or turn on the electrical with the key (or start the car)
and will light up again if the alarm is set off (if only slightly it wouldn't honk but more sever the action setting it off is then the horn will honk or even lights start flashing and horn and all)

i just want to turn off the red blinking light.. its really bright

Have you ever had it go off
if not try setting it off see if it'll go off from (loud noises or closeing the trunk to hard)

I'm thinking this is a dealer installed active alarm, as opposed to the factory installed active alarm......

starting the car should clear the alarm if not go to your dealer
I don't know why they call it a reset button as the only use I know of so far for it is to adjust sensitivity
