ok so i have had my 05 mustang GT for alittle more than 5 months now. when i was getting out of my car a little while ago i saw a bright flashing red light hitting my legs.. i went in side and got a flash light and went to go look at it. i swear to god that i have never seen the red blinking light thing before. my car has been in the shop recently but i dont know its scary. i also broke up with my gf of 16 months and im hoping like she isnt doing one of those trackers or a bomb in my car or something. im pretty sure i would of seen such a light if it had been there before.. i took pictures the show you guys and ill post them when they are uploaded.. im just wondering if you guys have the same thing i do. thanks

on the back of it is the reset button to adjust the sensitivity

I've got it too; I was told by the dealer that it's part of the anti-theft/alarm system.

 

form what the dealer said its part of the "active-anti-theft" system
some here have the "passive-anti-theft" which doesn't have it

if you have the active system and you carefully slap the outside of the car it'll go off if you have the passive one then nothing will happen

 

You know, that's what I was thinking it looked like because I remember another post where someone put up similar pics. It's like a pseudo-custom alarm that some dealers installed over the "factory" one. Only a couple people on this forum have it, or know much about it.

 

i just want to turn off the red blinking light.. its really bright

 

If you don't have it you may just have the passive system

 

It should turn off when you (depending on how set off it is)
unlock and relock the car from the remote
or turn on the electrical with the key (or start the car)

and will light up again if the alarm is set off (if only slightly it wouldn't honk but more sever the action setting it off is then the horn will honk or even lights start flashing and horn and all)
