I have very similar spots to you (not nearly as many.....yet) on my silver stripes (on a tungsten 07). I tried plexus, the mf towel i used to buff it off came out surprisingly dirty but the spots were basically still there, and this was immediately after a wash. I'll have to try the magic eraser, but other than that i don't know. I live in sunny so. florida so it could b sun damage, but it looks more like hard water and other deposits and discoloration that i apparently didn't clean off in time and now they're set in. I'm really tryin hard to find somethin that will work, i'll keep you posted if i find anything.

yeah, washing seems to make it look okay until it dries and then it goes straight back to the way it was. These started in small quantities too ("hmm...need to dry that better next time", etc.) but they've gotten bad in the last month. I'm not sure if there's going to be any kind of magical cure for them, I just wish I could garage it. [:@]

This depends on the vinyl and whether or not it's printed colour or actual factory colored vinyl. Factory colored vinyl shouldn't blotch,I feel in this case that it's probably cheap vinyl there.
When I print side stripes I laminate with clear vinyl over the top unless there's a specific reason not to, recently I did a set for Nate (on here) and couldn't laminate them as he wanted a very flat Satin finish. The trouble with non laminated printed stripes is that the life of the stripes is reduced as the ink is exposed to the weather and UV, plus, the more you try to erase blotches the worse they can get as you're basically chewing into the solvent ink.

ok, after doing some reading around the tubes, people have reported the Eagle One wet spray polish works well. I'll also give Mr. Clean a try. Off to experiment, I'll keep you posted...should be back to let you know within an hour or so.

I don't wail on my stripes, just wash them down and then give them some love with Simonez "ICE"

from what I understand they just spray it on over the factory stripes and it's supposed to make them sem-permanent and you wash and wax them like any other part of the car. This was a ford mechanic telling me this, I doubt he's make stuff up.

aw, thanks for the info, I will probably go the vinyl route as well in thespring, with the clear coat can you still take the stripes off if needed?
