I've sanded my mirrors down to 320 grit and the paint shop wants $150to spray promoter, primer, base and clear. What did you pay or is that a good price?
Dealer charged me $120 total, no prep or anything. I ended up prepping anyways to play it safe, but the dealer gave a lifetime warranty so I was covered either way.
50 sounds reasonable. ive had shops quote me 100 for a whole fender off the car. prep to paint. i bought the equipment and learned how to paint myself. after youve done a couple cars youll make your money back compared to paying the man. and youll have bragin rights you did it yourself.

That's an ok price, what matters now is the quality of the workmanship. btw, did you sand in around the inner part of the plastic shell... can push mirror in to sand this. You would spend $150 on materials (and have a lot left over)and it sounds like you don't have the environment, equipment or experience to paint them yourself. Whether it's $100 or $150 whatis important is thequality ofthe jobyou get. Some shops will not do base and clear (just use a single stage urethane) and charge less; forget that!
