Default Radar detector thread

So maybe I missed something, but it looks like the search function isn't working?

Anyway, I got off with a warning yesterday, but I figured it's time to invest in a radar detector - there was a thread on it several days ago, but I can't find it - can someone lend a hand?

Thanks - A_J

I would recommend checking out www.radartest.com
My wife and I both have Escort Passport 8500's. I've had mine 5 years, and hers for 4 years. We have recently sent both in to Escort for updating and they still work like a champ.

KEEP IN MIND, you get what you pay for. I would stick with the Bel, Passport or V1. Our Passport's have paid for themselves.

Search is giving me problems too, no thread for now.

Thx - I'm thinking about those models, but I'm also eyeing the Solo, as it's battery powered and cordless - anyone have experience with the solos?

Ya stay away from the cordless ones. As the batterys die so does the capibility of the detector. Stick with a valentine 1 or the new passport with gps.

I have the 8500 and I am about to wire it into my radio fuse. When ever you turn the car on it automatically goes on and off. The wires run along the a pilar if your worryed about that. A good alternative to the "solo" I think.
