Forged internals

RE: Forged internals
i dunno, i think i read somewhere, maybe even on this forum, expect to make around 430hp, something like 360 whp.with the stroke. of course that includes your basic boltons aswell, headers cai, and u would want a custom tune i would think. i am going to get a stroke with forged internals befre i get the blower because in about a yar i think there will be a larger drop in blower prices than in forged pieces.

I payed right about 6800 for mine.... Forged Crank, rods, ceramic coated pistons, stiffer valve springs,Gt 500 fuel system, installed, prepped and blueprinted.....Well worth it if you are going for some big numbers... Im upgrading my blower to a D-1 and hope to get around 700rwhp with about 18lbs of boost.. Right now im at 580RWHP with a P-1 and 14 lbs ofo boost..

RE: Forged internals
That is a loaded question cause there are so many variables expecially what parts do you want to use? There are pistons for our cars that are $450 and there are pistons for our car that our $2500. There are rods for our car that go as high as $2000 so there are a lot of variables.
Don't forget that just because you have a 'built motor' doesn't mean you have carte' blanche to make power. You still and will always have limits. The parts you choose will dictate those limits. I't's all relative to how much power you want to eventually make. To give you an idea, my 370ci motor I am building to go into my car next year is costing me $10K just for the shortblock. However, I will be making and handling 1700 hp...
ST Motosports is really pushig the envelope with these cars and doing things that no one thought would or could be done. If you get a chance, go check out the '3.4 whipple on a 3V' thread at s 197forums and check out the write up on Ken's S197 right now with a 3.4 whipple on it!! Amazing stuff. We made 5 back to back 750+ rwhp passes on the car and I put my hand on the blower and it was COLD!!!! Unbelievable stuff. I've decided to put my car on a trailer next year so I'm going big. I'm looking for mid 7's in mine with a mini tub...
