When building that kind of power, my builder told me to start from the rear axles and work your way forward. If you start with the motor, you're going to blow something up in the drivetrain eventually (trans, driveshaft, rear axle, etc.). So, when we start throwing around numbers like $5K - $6K installed for the engine, you're really looking more like $11K or $12K or more for everything (incl. trans, driveshaft, engine, rear, brakes, etc.).

ORIGINAL: alloutt

is your car a roush? If it is did you take out all the roush stuff?
I bought a 'sport package' so I had no roush performance parts on my car ever. The only thing I 'took off' was I switched the roush 1/4 window louvers for cervinis. I've added a bunch of stuff but have not taken anything else of the 'roush' off. It is hand signed by Jack Roush on my dash.

stkjock - yeah. looks like my sponsorship for TAFC isn't even a consideration until at least 09' and even then - not garunteed - so I've decided to prepare my car for the heads up mustang classes with FFW, PSCA, and NMRA.

Big +1!

Many guys seem to forget when you start making too much power for the stock motor, you are also making too much power for many other 'stock' parts... When you start pushing over 500 rwhp, a 'built motor' is just the first step...
