Default Alpine Head unit?

I'm still looking for a way to deal with the Shaker 500 and hooking up my ipod (2005, pre AUX imput standard). Basically, I can either keep the 500 and get an AUX line installed into the rear of the stock head unit, or get a top of the line Alpine (CD, mp3, Ipod, bluetooth, etc) for a great price installed. I like the flush and clean/not busy look of the Shaker, and would like to keep it. Anybody have a different head unit (pics)?

At the end of the day, it will still be a Skipper....You will not regret an Alpine head unit....

I have a friend who has the Alpine unit and loves it. He said it even makes the stock speakers sound better.

I run an Alpine too. I also utilized that ugly pocket below the head unit and fabbed in a Zapco dry EQ for better quality sound

I love the storage cubby, but I have been searching for months for a cover for it. Anything that's in it does not remain there long under heavy acceleration.....[8D][8D] If anybody knows of doors for these, I sure would appreciate a link.....

Thx.

The only way to go! Alpine iDA-X001 and 32GB stick in the glove box. O% noise, the cleanest sound I've ever heard and instant access to your music. Worth every bit of $300 (ebay).
