Interstate drivers
Summer - 19 mpg city/ 29 mpg @ 70 mph / 31 mpg @ 60 mph
Winter - 18 mpg city / 28 mpg @ 70 mph / 30 mpg @ 60 mph
I got 25 mpg in mixed driving including 14 drag strip passes.

The sweet spot for me is right at about 68mph without cruise control. Right now I average only about 17.3gph but is mostly local driving
Oh, and going 90 in a 65 zone in Maryland will net you about $400 ticket
That was quite a few years ago though.
No kidding, I would like to increase my mpg. Though getting a Brenspeed tune is still on my wishlist and would probably help.
You could even do a "risk-vs-reward" cost analysis to figure out if speeding is actually worth it, even if you get at ticket. In other words, you could figure out chances of getting caught, how much the ticket would be, how much insurance would go up, how much time you'd save by speeding, etc.
Disclaimer: I am not promoting illegal activities, and I do not assume liability for anyone caught speeding!

Wow, a 2 year old thread!
I've driven many, many long trips with the Stang. It's not so much what speed as it is what RPM since tire size and gears will make going by MPH a poor gauge.
I've found that staying in the 1500-1800 RPM range while cruising highway provides my best gas mileage (w/o dropping below about 55 MPH). I can get 26 MPG or better, pump-to-pump, hand calculated. Over 1800 RPM and my fuel consumption begins to increase.
