painted headlight

RE: painted headlight
i did it and it wasnt that hard. just make sure to heat up the silicone around the factory edges really, really good. almost too hot to touch. if you dont you will break the plastic cover. i used a hair dryer and then a screw driver to pry up the lens. i cant stress the importance of the heat. you might have to heat it a few times by the time you're done. when resealing the headlight i used black silicone from permatex available at autozone. this mod is definitely a unique look. if you want to make it look a little different you can also paint behind the louvers. e-mail me for pics.

RE: painted headlight
started disassembly today. had to remove the front bumper and grill to get the lights off the car. getting the lens off the headlight bucket does take alot of heating and you have to heat the adhesive to get it out of the groove in the bucket.took about1 1/2 hours.it all goes back together easily after its cleaned up though. ill start painting sometime this week. need to see it in green before i decide on the color behind the louvers.
