Insurance wouldn't change that much for me. I pay $64 a month for full coverage on my 06 v6 with USAA (get on board guys, if you have a relative in the military, you can get insurance from USAA for hundreds cheaper for real). I did an online quote with them and if I got an 06 GT my insurance would jump up to $83 a month for full coverage.

And 28mpg highway with a GT? Wow... I get 25mpg on the sixxer doing 80 on I-95. About 19 in the city.

Wow, I already found one I want to buy. Check out this steal - the guy said he would do 17k for it. I'm gonna try to get it this weekend!

with my V6 vert.
22mpg city in rush hour bumper to bumper long island traffic
30mpg all highway driving between 65-70mph
All of this is with 87 economy tune from VMP, Steeda CAI, GT muffler,
and 255/65r16 (29" tall)rear tires.
My only guess is that the 29" tall tires are bringing my 3.31 gears down to 3.0X ratio and lowering my rpms
and improving my mileage..
Figure that one out. LOL

I had the chance to buy a GT 'vert when I got this, and I passed on it.
5 speed manual in rush hour traffic is not fun. and what good is almost 300hp if you're going 5mph to 20mph? [:'(]

The rumor started when someone compared the window
sticker of a V6 to the window sticker of a GT same year.
Estimated Annual Fuel Cost:$1,502
CITY MPG
19
HIGHWAY MPG
28
Vehicle Engine Information
2006 MUSTANG, 4.0 LITER ENGINE, 6 CYLINDERS (FEEDBACK FUEL SYSTEM), FUEL INJECTION, CATALYST, 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
Actual mileage will vary with options, driving conditions, driving habits and vehicle's condition. Results reported to EPA indicate that the majority of vehicles with these estimates will achieve between16 and22mpgin the city and between23and33mpgon the highway.
For Comparison Shoppingall vehicles classified asSUBCOMPACThave been issued mileage ratings from12to37mpg city and18to44mpg highway.

I thought it was because in 2008 the fuel economy numbers were forced to be recalculated to depict actual driving conditions instead of the prior estimates? I saw a 2008 v6 sticker that depcited 16 city, 24 highway. and the 2008 GT was 15 city 22 highway

Even with the upgraded formula, they are off by at least5-6 mpg on the GT.

Im in a sixxer and my mpg sucks. Used to be good now my fuel gauge is having problems recognizing I put gas in the tank, goes down quick then will suddenly keep going up until it reads full. Plus i think I got a leak somewhere but not sure. I think i may have bottomed out one too many times.
