Default v6 mpg

There's a rumor going around that the v6 only gets 1 or 2mpg better than the GT.. is this true? When did this come about? I thought the v6 was marginally better on gas than the GT.

I have an 06 pony package in torch red with 30k miles and if it's true.. I'm considering selling it and getting a GT. I can sell my car for $14,500 easy and buy a GT for 17k. The way I figure, I'll make up the difference when it comes time to resell it.

^go for it then. Marginally worse gas milege shouldn't hold you back from the better car.

When I had just an intake and a tune, I could get 28mpg on the highway and 20 in the city. It's a bit worse now with my new tune and delete plates. You'll save more money on the V6 insurance than you will on less burnt gasoline.

I've got an 05 Stang with the current mods in the sig. I drive about 70 miles to and from work, mostly on the highway, and the best that I had ever gotten was 26 mpg combined.Usually I see a solid 25 mpgcombined.Granted this is with some time hitting the gas more than I should, but darn it.... It's a Mustang after all, and those "Autozone tuned" Civics and other ricers make it imposible for me to drive like an ol' granny all the time!!

I consistently get 18 mpg with all city driving.. and I push it.

Insurance cost will make up for the difference though.. a recent quote for a GT for me was way more than i expected..
