Default Disabling Daytime Running Lights for Retro-Solutions HID's

I want to disable my DRL's when I install my HID kit, anyone have a clue on how to do this?

ChiDiddy......have any mounting tricks for the Retro-Solutions HID kits?

I have an '07 and I don't have DRL's, or at least no lamps that are on full-time with the ignition on. I'll assume that means thatmine are disabled. I'd check the manual but I'm at work...

Thanks. I'll take a look in the manual as well, but I can't remember seeing anything about that. DRL's reduced voltage to the HID's is not good for them.

DRLs are for Canadian vehicles
and are controlled by the logic within the
SJB. You need to get your SJB reprogrammed
by the dealer (good luck).
There have been multiple previous posts about
DRLs and how to disable them. I have not
known it to be done. The dealer seems to
not want to reprogram the SJB for ANY reason.
HIDs and DRLs dont mix well.

Crappy deal. I was hoping it was as simple as a fuse. I know I can just drive with my headlights on, but its going to fire the HID's when I unlock the car.

You could put a simple delay relay in the place of the lighting relay
that delays the turn on by about 1 second and avoid the unlock
light flash. I dont think mine does the headlight flash, just the turn
signals?

Actually, I browsed the manual last night, and you can turn off the "Perimeter Lighting" when you use the remote, so my lights wont fire. Which means, my DRL's will never be used unless I forget to turn my headlights on! Coolest thing is, the interior lighting is separate from the perimeter lighting, so the interior can still illuminate before I get in.

Good work, so this works as a simple fix?
