It happens to me also and is a common issue but it seems to be more prevalent on certain pumps. It's simply a work-around that I've come to expect when I fill up.
Well what happens is the gas doesn't have time to transfer over to the passenger side of the tank. The drivers sump fills up causing it to click off. Thats why it happens around 7 gallons. If you were to pull the pump and senders out the passenger side would be dry while the drivers is full. Thats why it usually happens when the tank is ran low. Pumping it in slow is usually the best way to avoid it. It'll just take an extra minute to fill up.
Well then I guess that every dealer is different -- when I had this problem I called and was told to bring it in because it WAS a TSB and covered under warrenty. Thats what I did and the problem was solved in a few hours. I would just call your dealer and ask about it and see what they say ... maybe your dealer will be like mine and cover it... never hurts to ask

Technical Support Bulletin (TSB)...should not be linked to warranty period. So, you should be able to take car in to have it checked. On the other hand, tilting the nozzle in a 45 degree angle worked for me when I had the same issue. I never took the stang in, but I dont seem to have the problem any more.

What exactly did they do to fix it? Change your owner's manual to say the tank was only 8 gallons?
OFF TOPIC: BTW, with the placement of the new Camaro's gas cap makes me wonder how many people will be spilling gas into their convertible or onto their trunk lid. It think it looks cool to be on top of the quarter panel, but I think you'd have to take great care with the gas nozzle and fill-ups.

And how does the gas get back to the side with
the fuel level sender and pump during normal driving?
Not whining but always wondered and you seem to
have SOME knowledge about the subject.....
Thanks Prime
This all happened to me this morning. first time its ever happened and I've had the car over a year now. I got the pump working by tilting the handle like everyone says. I froze my *** off too.
