Default Best mods for a bit more sound/performance?

Closing on a deal on a used '06 GT auto with low miles. (Test drove the 5spd too.....prefer the auto with commuting..etc).
My plan is to just get a catted x-pipe (Bassani..etc) and some mufflers (I prefer Flowmaster sound the best personally) for a little more sound. I don't want it real load with a cabin full of drone though so if someone can recommend the right mufflers to suit that I'd be most appreciative.

Also do I need a retune if I do the above? I'm not looking for much more hp (if any)......just a little more sound and breathability.

Thanks for any feedback!

Just get new mufflers, MAC's, they sound great andno need for a tune with exhaust mods.

No need for a tune as long you still have cats.

I've got MAC's and love them, but if you just want it a "little" louder and no drone, you probably won't like them.

I had aMAC cat-back on my old fox body. Sounded real good but I don't want to go that loud again.
Mufflers will be something a little quieter. But I'm thinking the catted X-pipe would still be worthwhile.....better breathability and save some weight.....and still not lose any back pressure..........

Option #1: Off-Road H-Pipe and Stock Mufflers. This will require a Tune.
However a SCT Tuner is a must for these cars to get rid of the soft throttle response and fix the soft trans in the autos.
BamaChips does amazing things with the Autos.

Option #2: Zoomers with stock H-Pipe. They were available for $398 on another forums groupbuy.
It expired Nov 30but I think you may still be able to get the price if you call up and ask.
Quality is as good as it gets.

Option 1 is out....I'm keeping my cats. Vid on youtube with the Zoomers......look sound real good and not too loud inside.....very nice. But why not an X-pipe plus the Zoomers axleback system?
