Default x-charger intake blow off/CBV?

I'm doing some research on the x-charger, the setup doesn't have an intake overpresure valve correct (Compressor Bypass Valve/Blow off)? If so, how dangerous is it not having one, and what is the process to install one?

Default RE: x-charger intake bypass?

It has a internal bypass just like the Eaton M90's that come on production cars and Roush's.

"low power consumption at part throttle with the By-pass Valve open can yield the same fuel mileage as stock. Very low parasitic loses because the X-CHARGER uses less than 1/3 horsepower when off boost"

The bypass is designed to disengage the x-charger below 2000 RPM, what I was reffering to was a blowoff valve where if you do hard braking and down shift the intake won't jump in presure between the charger and he closed throtle body.

I think you might be throwing belts without a blow-off

There is no blowoff valve on a supercharger. It has a bypass valve which closes when there is no longer a vacuum inside the intake manifold, ie. when the throttle is open far enough (about 1/2 throttle from my testing). It has nothing to do with rpms and as soon as you let off the gas it opens and the engine is back in vacuum.

If it always closed at half throtle that would work well, i've read up on this bypass valve which apprently disengages at "half thtrotle" and not 2000 rpm, good call, but could some one who is technically versed explain the way it functions. The point of it is to reduce the daily driving wear on the engine and increase mpg, however I'm not sure if it has the same function as the valve in the Kennel Bell.
