My local dealer is rather small, thus they seems to get pushed to the bottom of the allocation pile. I actually started off my order for an 05 (Hence the 05 in my screen name). I eventually had to reorder it as an 06.

Truth be told, it would have taken a lot longer to get but I was able to get the email addresses to 3 high ranking Ford VPs/Directors and after sending them an email about my situation, they actually stepped in and got my car scheduled for a build date!

I don't think I'll give out those addresses to anyone, but I will tell you that I took the approach of being kind and praising their product and asking for assistance rather than try to bash them and/or the dealer because I was waiting so long.

Ill hand it to you man, eight months is a long time to wait and you have definitely got alot of patience, Im having a hard time waiting two months. Im gonna try the same thing as you did though for changing my transmission from an auto to a stick. After driving the 5spd I cant see owning this car as anything else

the blue oval forum might be a good place to ask some questions. they are mostly ford factory employees. they can trace your build there for you too. good luck

+1 go on that site, create an account (free), and get a ford "insider" to track your car for you. I did this and knew when mine was going to be built/delivered before my dealer did.

Ok guys so heres my follow up. My day was going perfect, I was going to go home today and call ford corporate. About 15 minutes before I get off work, my manager calls me into his office, I just figure he wants to tell me thanks for my hard work ive been doing with my 12 hour days and everything, but im not that lucky. He says to me that he really appreciates my work but he cant afford to pay me anymore because business is slowing down. My heart sinks, my mustang plans go on hold and now ill definitely have to wait another couple months until i can afford to buy my mustang.[:@] Since Im going back home in a week for a bit, i figure i have to wait to get rehired So I will be placing a new order for my new mustang this week in hopes that timing will play out ok. Ughh,
