lol.z im going with a supercharger only because i have already spent my money on a cai that will only work with the saleen blower. otherwise if i had done my homework first i woudl have gone with a turbo. they are truly the technology of tommorow, and dex's sts kit sits in the back by his exhaust, so you would have waaayyy less engine heat than with a supercharger. i had a turbocharged supra for a few years and loved it, you dont really notice the lag that much on a good kit. john urist, mr mustang racer himself, loves turbo's. but hey ill just end all the arguing and draw attention to mr. urist's latest project, which i suggested before ever hearing about it......TURBOCHARGING A SUPERCHARGER. he has built a system for 03 and 04 cobras to run turbo's with the supercharger, case closed, combo ur engine and get the best of both worlds lol.

oh, and p.s.
i know u guys love ur whipples and kb's, but the saleen keeps the same front mounted throttle body position, so when i do get a built block, i could hook up a turbo and get a custom dyno tune to make my very own super/turbo setup

all of the following questions are pertaining to a turbo kit or s/c:

which one is the easiest to install?
Superchargers
which is the cheapest to install?
Superchargers
which is the most cost effective when considering the overall power gain from the kit?
Turbo
which one is safer for your car?
Apples to Oranges depends on boost and how its delivered but more blow ups with turbos then superchargers
which one will provide you with the MOST power at a cheaper price and is safer for your car while keeping your drivetrain STOCK?
UMMM neither both are bad for the car butless boost is better for the car Turbo???
which kit and which brand would YOU go with?
Well I was leaning towards the helion kit but I am now leaning towards the saleen or whipple. Seems like tuning a turbo can be a nightmare. If I wasn't worried about the tuning and a few other problems associated with turbos I would definetly go turbo remember horsepower is nice but torque is what moves you. You will never get the torque you get from a turbo with a supercharger.

This comes from an avid track goer that has neither just some go go juice. That is looking to go with a t/c or s/c during the offseason.
I change my mind often and rarely make any sense.

You are right, i've never owned a turbo'd car and probably never will since they are all 4 cylinders from the factory, lol!

I'm getting upset? You are the kid calling people names. I would so kick your *** in person for your comments.

ummm ok?
AGAIN, you supercharger guys get so upset when someone eventhinks about a turbo.

The problem with my engine was an unbalanced crank that was sold to me as balanced. It was an STS kit with Methanol so there is no way my engine heat was even close to as hot as yours gets with a supercharger.

Dont know why you needed to be an ******* about it. What did I do to you? Say, I like turbos?

Bottom line is turbo is better in some areas and supercharger is better in some areas. I bet you have never owned a turbo'd car and because you put on in your car youre an expert. You act like a pissed off little girl on here.

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

Im done visiting this thread.

Bottom line is in a 1/4 mile with the same boost and same stock car a turbo would win. Every FI setup has their ups and downs and I picked a turbo for my car.

Well I dont consider myself a supercharger guy I think I would recommend them to about 80% of the mustang population. Personaly I love turbo's, I bought my wife a Cx-7 just to get one back in the family.

But for people who want bolt on power that requires little maintenance or knowledge to keep running a supercharge just makes more sense because it is more widely used across the stang industry. Installers know them better as do tuners so it is easier to get parts and to get tuned and worked on.

Also with the possible exception of Urist I trust that FRPP/Whipple, and Saleen did hundred of thousands of hour of research and engineering time putting together there blowers. They modeled every nut and bolt down to the smallest detail and did tons of testing to get it right.

Turbo kit companies tend to be smaller and use standard turbo parts and tubing to put together their kits. I am sure they take thier time and do things to the best of their ability, but they cant match the big guys.

But for 20% of the stang population that want to be different or want big power or just like turbo's I think it is great and welcome you guys to the table.

We all love stangs and like to go fast who cares what you use to cram that air into the intake, s/c turbo, nitrous, it is all good.

Sorry 0NF1R, just felt like I had to post that, did you have any other questions ?
