Default Exhaust Tips Question

Hey guys. I found a pair of 4" tips on eBay that were dirt cheap so I had to get them. I want to put them on my Mustang, but the tips are 4" all the way through and they are 18" long each.

I have a flowmaster cat-back on my car currently that is 2.5", and the tips that are already on there are 3" and 12" long.

Do they sell some kind of adapter that can make my new tips fit on my 2.5 pipes, or at least can I chop into my 3" tips and convert from there into 4". I talked to a few muffler shops but they said they'd have to make a custom cone, and that would be way too expensive.

Any help would be appreciated. I know people on here run 4" tips, I just don't know how to convert them manually.

Thanks.

Don't know. My Stang came withchrome tips but when I put the Stingers on, they had larger "sexier" chrome tips with the FRPP logo...

it sounds like you're asking a question about a 2004 or prior Mustang, am I correct?

I have a 2000 Mustang, but that doesn't change the question really.

I just want to put the tips on my Flowmaster cat back and I need to know how.

check your local parts store they will have pipe reducers to make up the size difference or you could have something made by a muffler shop.

Like I said, what year Mustang that I have doesn't make a difference. I could have a '66 Mustang and the answer probably won't change.

I know what forum I posted it in. I just thought you guys might know the answer since there's a lot of you guys on here and you guys have a lot of good opinions.

If you guys don't know the answer, go ahead and say it. It won't hurt my feelings.

Again, if anybody knows how to convert a 4" exhaust tip so that it fits on a 3" exhaust, that would be great. If not, no hard feelings. Thanks.

They already answered you. Quit hassling us. Get a reducer or cut the 3 inch off of the muffler and weld the 4 inch on there.

Check out the lint of 3" inlet exhaust tips we make. There are 4 different styles and we designed them specifically for Mustangs.

There are in the exhaust section of our catalog.
