I tried the regulator but still had a pop when the system came on, the resistor took care of it though

No experience here with adding aftermarket to shakers.

they are blowing smoke.....you need asmallresistor for the amps and that is it to work with the shaker 500/1000 subs
As for the D3, i went with the Z1 double din so i wouldnt have to deal with switching DVD/CDS and the cleaner look. To each his own though.
