I wouldn't think the little surface chips spread. I thought that stuff was for cracks.

I wouldn't want to have to count all the little nicks and chips I've got. Had one the other day. Made me duck while I was driving! Had no idea where it came from as the only 18-wheeler was 2 lanes over and 200 feet ahead of me.

 

These windsheilds do suck.I have 6-7 chips and only 7k miles.I have a pickup with 80k,and a car with 90k and not one chip.

 

My '07 Mustang's windshield does seem to be especially brittle, if there is such a thing. I have a few chips too but mine are off to the passenger side so not too distracting.

 

Im not sure if its as much distracting as it is the fact that i will obsess on it and get irritated everytime i am in the car. [:@]As far as scratches go, i know they make a polish with a fine grit to remove scratches.I will try and get the name of it.

 

I have Geico ins which has the free chip repair but I don't use it. I also have their mechanical breakdown policy and it has a $50 glass breakage deductible, so I just let the chip spread and for $50, get new glass.
