i see everybody with hood pins... what the hell is the point of them? they dont look tight in my opinion..so wuts the deal what do they do

 

they are for high speed aplications... if you go over 100mph quite often its a wise investment as the front latch for our hoods could rip loose at those speeds and then you are going 100mph with a vertical hood blocking all view of the road... not a good combo.

They are pins that are bolted or welded to the front frame of the car and then run up through holes in the hood where you have pins (attached to lanyards) running through the top of the bolt preventing them returning back through the hood without removing the pin

 

If you dont like them, dont get them...Although they are a great safety option for high speeds, the truth is that most people buy them for the looks. I think they look great!

That would be a smart investment then yes...

 

As would be selling your car...110? Are you trying to kill someone???? Keep the speed on the track...

 

maybe hes in germany on the autobahn or in montana where there is no daytime hiway speedlimit (along with several other states)

You're doing no less that 110 everyday in your stock V6? Hmmm..... better get those hood pins !

 

What's not to like about them? Mine are even the fake ones. Gives the S197 a 70's Muscle car look IMO.

 

well we need to stop talking crap okay guys.... maybe he does do 110.... he asked a simple question and they look good in MY opinion.... if u dont like them then dont worry about it, all S197 models are the shizzle
