Default Side window is doing something weird.

Ihave a problem with my driver's side window. When I open the door the window will drop normally but after a few seconds the window keeps 'bumping' up and down four or five times and eventually stays up. To where I can't shut the door. The only way to shut the door is to lower the window with the switch. So I've just been lowering the window slightly before I exit the car to avoid the whole issue.

I searched for others with this problem and the closest thing I could find is that some folks'windows wouldn't 'bump up' when the door was closed or 'bump down' when they open the door. They could fix it by performing the recalibration procedure. I tried the procedure but no luck. It still freaks out on me when I open the door. I seem to remember reading that it could be due to a weak battery causing the calibration to be lost. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem before I drop in a new battery.

try disconnecting the window switch all together, I have no experience with this, but who knows... Otherwise, my suggestion would be to take it to the dealer, if it's still under warranty

You need to re-calibrate the window. Get inside and turn the key and roll up the window all the way. Once it's up, you want to pull the switch up and hold it for 10 seconds. Should fix your problems.

No experience with that issue, but over the years have seen all sorts of odd things (only in Fords) when various switches get sticky. You might try cleaning and lubing the door latches (I believe there's a switch in there to tell the GEM the door is unlatched,) the door jamb switches etc.
Solved some really wierd issues on my F150 with that simple task (cargo light intermittantly coming on, false door ajar warnings, dome light not going off, wiper speeds erratic - bunch of oddities, all fixed by lubing the door latches thoroughly..) Something about the way they ground and/or don't ground things.

Just a thought.

Tried lubing the latches...no luck. Guess I'll take her by the dealership.

Yeah, this should fix it. I've had to "re-calibrate" mine.

Recalibrating hasn't worked. I've tried two different ways...the way outlined in the owner's manual where you hold the switch for 2 seconds and another way described somewhere else in the forum where you hold the switch for 10 seconds. Neither worked. But thanks.
