I have violators. Not sure of the drone you speak of but I love the sound they make. Right after 2k RPMs the sound inside the car from the mufflers goes away and it gets louder out the back . If you get drone at 2k RPMs then drive faster

Hold both hands over your ears and hum, that iswhat drone sounds like, I didn't really like the popping sound when letting of the gas either, I had an 82 chevette without a muffler that did that.

stangs with stock mufflers do that also, as well as allmost all other aftermarket mufflers.
