So I read through the entire thread. I'm confused now. So do you still want the GT500 or are you satisfied now since the dealer raised the price and you no longer want it?

If you still want the GT500, I would get the quote from someone else on your own. Get a few of them and compare them. Of course Geico has their "prefered locations" but you are not made to take it to them. And then if one of their guys says TOTALED, and then they take it someplace else... hmm... Why not find out if that Ford Dealership is one of their "prefered locations."

But of course, get another quote, if 3 people say totaled and then 1 person says we'll fix it. Then sue the pants off of Geico for a "good faith" claim. There are plenty of shark lawyers that will get you your money's worth and then some.

That is assuming this is all true...

 

Yea moose im surprised you are still reading this, what you want to see a purchase order, maybe some dna, blood sample, antifreeze sample, I mean you tell me how I can make you believe me, thats my whole purpose in life, and I do believe you said that it bs to get to 80 in 2nd, now you are changing your story. I have no judgement in this thread at all, but I can say this...Inmy wifes maxima Ihit some of those riff raff rocks (what they use on the side of highways to keep hills from washing out) and it done almost $6000 worth of damage andyou couldnt even tell it was hit, all the damage was done underneath.They didnt even replace the bumper, there was novisible damage......

 

well if you signed a contract at the dealership for 39,000 then you will not be held liable for the 49,000 they now want to charge you for the GT500. It's part of the law of contracts, an offer isno longervalid if there are a change in terms. That was my understanding of business law last semester, I am in no way a lawyer but thats how I understood it.

FORDM, you have to realize that even with the best intentions, your stories are stretched to say the least. Probably a case of exaggeration, which we all are a little guilty of sometimes I'm sure.

Your actual wreck story was already a shaky start with the new Charger laying a PIT maneuver on you without even stopping, plus the whole story was delivered in such a Blasé manner and garnished with the now infamous "don't care cos I'm getting a GT500 anyway" line.
The car was to be totaled apparently, but now the shop is saying that a bit of spit and polish is all it needs. But you weren't to know that as you're "not very mechanical" (despite you installing your own blower [&:])
Let us not forget the 80mph in 2nd gear which on occasion still has me giggling like a girl at the most inoppurtune moments.

As you can see, it's all a bit messy, so be prepared for a few reality check posts.

Best thing for you to do is relax, take a step back, and just see what happens with your car. I'm sure that the insurers will fix up your ride (Unless they read this forum and know your story) and shortly you'll be out on the streets once more.
