you could find a good used one, theresome killer deals out there,but ford is offering some killer deals on newstangs right about now. Weight your options..

 

I just bought a Stang and I heavily considered the used vs new dilenma before my purchase.

There are 0% 72 month financing on 07 Stangs. I got a price quote about a month ago for GT Premium with HIDs, Interior upgrade package, and a few minor options for around 25,500. With the 0%, assuming you invest your money in a savings account at 3.9% interest (the going rate these days), you'll earn another 2,000 dollars (roughly) after taxes off that interest. (This is factoring in the monthly payments and the declining revenue from interest over time.)

Of course, there aren't many 07's left on lots anymore so getting the car you want will be pretty tough.

If you can find a good car with low low mileage and get a good deal like the guy above who said he got 2.9% financing on top of an extended warranty... I would say go for that unless you can find an 07 with the right specifications that you want.

 

I was actually looking to buy used and got a better deal on a new one.

 

i bought brand new (first day on the lot) and got 0%, but, when buying used, just make sure you take a closer look, and don't act on impulse!!! but, there are some nice deals on used gt's out there that are tempting, even to me!!

 

If you buy used, I advise buying it stock. Mine was stock minus the Hurst STS and that's it. Make sure you can personalize it yourself.

 

There are some killer new deals here at the end of the year/begining of the next year.

I got my V6 brand new for $15k. Granted it was bear bones, but I've seen Kia's more expensive, and a Kia these cars are not.

Shop around, see what you can get. If you have a rebate, coupon, or anything like that, haggle the salesman down as far as he'll go, THEN hit him with that. Don't bring them up before hand.

Got my poor salesman to match another dealerships deal on a single vehichle, plus a new buyer discount, them got him with a $1k online coupon for scheduling a test drive with a new car right before I signed the papers. His manager was...not...happy.

 

Depends on your plans for the car. What ever you do don't buy a used one with mods. I say new if you plan to keep it mostly stock, dd. But if you are gonna be into mods think about finding an 06 with less than 10k miles for $20-23k(they are out there just look) then add the 400hp whipple or saleen supercharger, because it won't affect your warranty, if the dealer does the install you could get it financed, then for the price of your brand new 08 you could have a 06-07 with full warranty and 400-435hp!

 

There are some good deals out there on late model Mustangs. My friend bought a 2007 GT with 19K miles for $19K. His Dad liked it so much he bought a used 2006 loaded with goodieswith 27K miles for $22K. When I say "goodies" I mean like Shelby Razors and such.

I agree. I bought my 06 PP coupein December 06 with 10K miles, and it wasthe 2nd one I looked at. The one I bougth was stock (and cheaper), but the 2nd one was modded and driven by an 18yo spoiled kid. No regrets buying pre-depreciated.

 

Im sure most will disagree but I say never buy a used sports car.... Now there are a few exceptions but for 95% of the time buy new.....
