Hey guys,

My girlfriend is getting my windows tinted for christmas. Can you guys post some pics of 35% and 20% tint? That's what im deciding on. I know 20% is illegal, but do you think that I will run into much problem w/ that? This place replaces scratched tint for free. My car is a silver 06 gt.

Two things:

#1: moleskin (even if your tint place fixes scratched tint for free, how much time do you want to spend in that place?)

#2: 20% (you'll probably be fine depending on your local police, but even if they're crazy about that, what are a few tint tickets?)

I had 35 on the front, 15 on the back, and switched the fronts to 15, the 30-35 is too light, not worth it. You can always roll the fronts down, and the backs you can do anything you want, so do 20 all around. I asked for 20, but my tint guy uses 15, and it looks great. You shouldn't have any problems with getting stopped, I haven't, nor has anyone I know. If you get pulled over, roll the fronts down.

So, in short, go with 20.

It really depends on where you live. Here in Texas DFW cops will not stop you but good luck on getting it inspected. They did check mine and it did not pass so I had to get it retinted

I've got 20% up front, 5% in back here. No pictures, but I haven't been pulled over for it in CA where the legal front is 65 or 70%

Here's 20% all the way around, this isthat new non-metallic nano-carbon polyester from 3M... It's blacker than most tint, and blocks more sun.. I really like it, it lives up to the hype.

Per 3M

"While most other window film companies buy their polyester from someone else, 3M makes its own polyester in Decatur, Alabama. During this process, 3M patented a technology for producing its own nano-carbon polyester. This revolutionary and unique process, allows for maximum heat rejection without metals, which can interfere with radio and/or satellite signals. It also gives our films a beautiful neutral black look with unpararell color stability. Never before has anyone done this. In fact, it's so advanced that in time-based tests, 3M Color-Stable Auto Film held its color while most conventional dyed films rapidly changed to a purple color. No purple windows. Guaranteed!"
