Default Wheel Spacers

Ok so I did a search but couldn't find any info on it. I want to put wheel spacers on my car, has anyone done this? Just wondering if there is any cause and effect to putting them on. Thanks.

H&R makes high-quality spacers in a range of thicknesses. I've been told one or another of those sold on eBay for half the price are made by the same manufacturer, of the same materials, on the same machines.

I know of several serious road-racers who use spacers with no ill effects. I also know of several people who say wheel spacers are a tool of the Devil, and that they would never, ever use them.

Me? I haven't had the experience, yet, but once my wheel/tire choices settle down, I intend to pick up an inch or two in track width, and snuggle the tires up to the fender lips a bit closer.
