I think we all know that Mobil 1, Royal Purple, and Amsoil are the 3 most popular.

I am wondering what weight. I know 5W20 is recommended, but surely with Superchargers, Turbos, and other mods there are people running oil other than 5W20.

Speaking of which, do you need to change the oil weight/viscosity if the car is blown or turbo'ed?

 

99% of the time, YES. That's why I asked. The pressure/heat that forced induction puts oil through, it's normally recommended that you increase the W of the oil. But does that mean the S197 appilcations should use something like 10W30 instead of 5W20? Who knows...

 

GT500 uses 5w50

 

I use the old oil from my lawnmower. Lol, no 5-20
